Bob Drake's journey in music covers 5 decades and more genres than you can be bothered to read in this description.
His songs are idiosyncratic ("to a fault"), with an emphasis on the interest of melody. On his recordings he plays almost all the instruments himself, and the music has elements of progressive rock, country/blues and "bizarro pop".
