Event information
Storytellers Ruth Kirkpatrick and Colin Urwin bring selkie myths and coastal voices back to life, inspired by David Thomson’s remarkable work The People of the Sea.
Both tender and brutal, Thomson’s collection of seal folklore and folktales from the coasts of Scotland and Ireland captures the mythic bond between people and the natural world, acting as a quiet yet powerful homage to a disappearing world.
This event is part of the Scottish International Storytelling Festival programme for 2025.
Running time: 1 hour
Recommended ages 13+
