Four Winds showcase the expressive power and flexibility of the saxophone in an hour-long programme covering six centuries of music. In the beautiful surroundings of the iconic medieval church, they'll begin with the glorious sounds of renaissance polyphony, and make their way to some original pieces of their own via music from Purcell, Weil, Bartok and many more. The musicians forming the quartet are local stars: Phillip Brunton - soprano saxophone; Paul Arnold - alto saxophone; Paul Woodin - tenor saxophone; Karys Staddon - baritone saxophone. Tickets £12 on the door. Also available from Visit Hitchin in the Churchyard from August. You can find out more on the group’s website https://fourwindssaxophonequartet.com/ Bar on the night. Doors open 6.30pm, 7 pm start & finish by 8.15 pm so you can still enjoy Hitchin's Foodie scene afterwards! In aid of St Mary's Community Hub appeal to upgrade the facilities.
Earlier at 5 pm Free family concert for 40 mins with donations at the end for the Appeal.
