Event information
Mejedi is a multi-genre trumpeter, pianist and composer who creates colourful experiences in his work. With his musical interests blossoming from the sounds of Gospel, Gospel Highlife, and West African Gospel and Western Classical music of his childhood, his versatile reputation has been recognised by many leading British ensembles such as the National Youth Jazz Orchestra of Great Britain (NYJO). He has performed at venues including the Royal Albert Hall with the Chineke! Foundation, Ronnie Scotts with National Youth Jazz Orchestra, Jazz at the Round with Xhosa Cole, and the Kempten Jazz Spring with SEED Ensemble. Since receiving his diploma from the Trinity Laban Conversatoire, he is currently continuing his undergraduate studies at the Juilliard School of Music and Drama, where his giftedness has been showcased at the Blue Note Jazz club, and recently alongside Eric Wyatt at Smalls. When he isn’t studying or performing, he can be found working on compositions for his album or watching documentaries on music, politics or sports.
