Event information
Chris Avery is a socially-engaged musician whose radical ideas “have taken sustainable touring to the next level” (BBC News). His recent walking tour of the Wales Coast Path with folk duo Filkin’s Drift has propelled him into the spotlight. He has performed live on BBC R3 ‘In Tune’, been interviewed on BBC World Service, and appeared as a panellist on sustainable touring at The Great Escape, Brighton.
As a musician, Chris has a multi-genre approach, with roots in classical and folk traditions. He has toured the UK and Ireland as a soloist, performing at Queen’s University Belfast, the National Eisteddfod of Wales, and the Contemporary Music Centre in Dublin.
Bridget and Kitty are folk singers and sisters from Southeast London who sing unaccompanied and in close harmony. They are deeply embedded in the London folk revival scene, running the popular Folk of the Round Table session in Peckham. They are drawn to songs about women and workers, learnt from elders or from personal exploration and ownership-taking from the folk canon.
