Mayukh Gangopadhyay, a professional sarod player and composer from India following a combination of Shahjahanpur-Imdadkhani Gharana (style of music), now under the tutelage of Shri Arnab Chakrabarty and Pandit Abhik Mukherjee. He has received CCRT Senior Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Govt of India. He has been performing in Europe and India at various noted venues to name Shubh-e- Banaras, Indian International Centre, New Delhi ; Tagore Society, Singapore ; Peace Palace, The Hague, Netherlands on the occasion of the 150th Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi; Maharishi European Research University, Seelisberg, Switzerland, L'association Bhairavi, Metz, France; Médiathèque l'Étoffe des Mots, Fellering, Alsace, France, Babel Sound world Music Festival, Hungary; Indo-Czech Autumn Festival, Prague, Theater am Faden, Stuttgart; Actisce Patronage laique Jules Vallès, Paris, France, etc.
Jyotirmoy Chakrabarty, son of Classical Vocalist Smt.Bishnupriya Chakrabarty, started his musical journey fromthe tender age of 9 from Shri Sanjay Adhikari learning the nuances of Tabla. At the age of 12 he came under the able guidanceof World renowned Tabla Maestro Pandit Samar Saha of The Benaras Gharana at ITC, Sangeet Research Academy (SRA), Kolkata. He has played at the annualconference of ITC , SRA under the guidance of his Guruji in 2012. He has recently returned from a successful Europe and UK tour and performed Indian classical music at venues like : Maharishi European Research University, Seelisberg, Switzerland, Tagore Centre - Berlin , The Indian Embassy - The Hague - Netherlands , Centre for Heartfulness - Lausanne , The Victoria Institute - Arundel , Dublin University , Tracton Arts Centre - CORK, Westminster Music Library - London to name a few.
He is associated with Tarang School of Music - Bangalore, Swaraatma School of Music - Kolkata and Mittsure Technologies - Jaipur , Harper Collins Publications as a Tabla/Percussions Trainer since 2017. Apart from Indian Classical music he has keen interest in world music. He has been learning South Indian Carnatic Taal from the renowned Ghatam player Shri Somnath Roy since 2017.
