Event information
A varied evening of exciting and beautiful original music by four female artists based in Scotland. All four were selected by the Hen Hoose songwriting collective to benefit from their mentorship scheme.
CLAIR TIERNEY combines sensitive vocals with delicate guitar work, firmly rooted in contemporary folk music. Expect disarming, magical folk songs from her albums Of The Deepest Dye and Inside A Story. “Graceful and emotive" according to the Westmorland Gazette.
LESRYS writes candidly about personal loss, family and ill-fated romance, bringing these memories to life with her earthy and grounded voice. As an emerging artist, you can look forward to original songs and covers of her greatest influences, including Ethel Cain and Hozier.
MAAIKE SIEGERIST writes story-telling songs about travels, remarkable people, animals, and recently, space. BBC Radio 6's Tom Robinson praised her "delicate vocal" and "gorgeous chord changes." Immerse yourself in atmospheric space songs with a touch of jazz from her new EP, Starbound.
Described as having a "voice of visceral power", MIWA NAGATO-APTHORP draws on Japanese and Scottish folk traditions to explore multicultural understandings of history, climate, gender and home. Expect achingly beautiful folk songs from her debut EP, Noren.
No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Message one of the artists if you require a free ticket.
