Step inside Boisdale of Canary Wharf for a night steeped in soul and sparkle as The Wonder of Stevie brings together vocalist Noel McCalla and saxophonist Derek Nash, two towering talents in British music, for a finely tuned celebration of Stevie Wonder’s rich and influential legacy.

From the rhythmic punch of “Superstition” to the tender glow of “Overjoyed”, this show explores Stevie’s vast catalogue with precision, soul and style. Noel McCalla, praised by Blues & Soul Magazine as “one of Britain’s best soul singers”, made his mark with the pioneering jazz-funk outfit Morrissey-Mullen and spent nearly 20 years as lead vocalist with Manfred Mann’s Earth Band. His voice brings sincerity and soul to classics like “My Cherie Amour”, “Lately” and “Isn’t She Lovely”.

Derek Nash, a long-standing member of Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and the Ronnie Scott’s Blues Explosion, brings deep musical pedigree and command to the stage. With multiple British Jazz Awards under his belt and a list of collaborators that includes Gregory Porter, Chaka Khan, David Sanborn, Eric Clapton and Amy Winehouse, Nash brings Stevie’s harmonic textures and brass arrangements to life with clarity and respect.

Backed by a world-class band, the show covers material from Songs in the Key of Life, Innervisions, Hotter Than July and beyond. Expect tight, faithful arrangements of songs like “For Once in My Life”, “Sir Duke”, “I Wish”, “Boogie On Reggae Woman” and “Signed, Sealed, Delivered”, delivered with energy and admiration for the source.
