New Orleans-born Acantha Lang brings the music of Gladys Knight into sharp, soulful focus with a voice that’s earned nods from BBC 6 Music, Classic Rock and Jools Holland himself. There’s no mistaking her sound: richly textured, gospel-inflected, and delivered with a calm command that makes you stop what you’re doing and just listen.
Her 2023 debut album Beautiful Dreams received a Grammy nomination and appeared on several ones-to-watch lists, thanks to its blend of classic soul foundations and contemporary lyrical bite. She has performed at both Harlem’s Apollo Theatre and Ronnie Scott’s in London, and her deep musical grounding shines through every note.
