Lead singer and co-writer with No1 chart act Nizlopi (best known for the JCB Song) who deeply influenced a young Ed Sheeran; Luke is now a solo artist and Songrwiting Coach, helping songwriters realise their full potential as artists making a positive difference in the world.
Upon meeting double-bassist John Parker in school, the two formed the folk hip-hop duo Nizlopi (best known for the “JCB Song”), selling a million records in their twenties and deeply influencing a young Ed Sheeran (who interned with them). Through the strain of recording and touring world-wide with a small family-run label, Nizlopi parted ways.
Invigorated by a hitch-hiking trip to Palestine, Luke wrote his first solo album ‘Give it all’ kindling the fire for a solo singer-song writer career. Luke followed his love, the singer Stephanie Hollenberg, to the United States and they married in 2019. Stephanie wrote the Chamber musical ‘At Love’s Hearth’ and performs and teaches around the world, often with Luke.
Ecstatic Bird in the Burning, Luke’s 2022 album debuted at no12 in the folk charts on both sides of the Atlantic (with a no7 single ‘Doing Nothing’) and garnered rave reviews:
A pandemic collaboration with multi-instrumentalist composer Darius Christian (Macklemore/Leslie Odom Jr) lead to the singles ‘What would you change’, ‘Brother’ (a dialogue between a Ukrainian and Russian soldier) and ‘Dance with you’ (with a joyful global community made video). New singles are coming through 2025 along with UK and US tours. Luke and Stephanie now reside in a Yurt on Abenaki land in Vermont with wonderful neighbours, and a parliament of bard owls.
”Luke is one of my three main heroes along with Van Morison and Damien Rice” — Ed Sheeran
“Concannon dazzles …. folk music with a little extra something.” – Dancing about Architecture
“His humanizing songs, way of drawing in the whole room and activist love are so needed in our world today” Alastair McIntosh, Best selling author, Bard and campaigner.
