Event information

Join us at Jamboree to celebrate and shout Viva Peru! - a night featuring the full flavour of the famous Fiestas patrias of this amazing country bringing the popular Chicha, amazonic and psychedelic cumbia sounds combined with the afro-peruvian rhythms and musica criolla (creole music) from the Peruvian Coast (Costa), the Highlands (Sierra), and the Amazon Jungle (Selva).

Headliners Los Bravos de la K'umbia are the most popular chicha band in the UK with a full-power tropical– psychedelic unique show led by Wilfredo Avalos (Antara). The band bring the classic sounds of Cumbia and Chicha from Peru, rooted in its folklore and Latin American music. They bring to life the hybrid sound popular in the 1960s and 1970s, blending Amazonic and cumbia rhythms with psychedelic effects. Their show comprises of a global re-awakening, with fierce Latin energy with the amplified strum of surf guitars ripping across a percussive bed of conga slaps, powerful cowbell and timbal sounds, bold bass, psychedelic amazonic melodies and the gurgling rasp of a guiro hero! A musical trip to the origins of Chicha born in nature of ayahuasca in the amazonic jungle brought to you by this trust-worthy musical shamans.

Supported comes from Dora de La Cruz & Soy Peru. Dora is one of the very few traditional Afro Peruvian singers, who started promoting Peruvian music in London almost twenty years ago. Hailing from Lima, Dora is a key figure of Afro Peruvian music and 'Musica Criolla' - a mixture of West African, indigenous and Spanish music -in the UK. She comes from a family of folklorists in her native Perú, and together with her musicians, she will deliver a set of rhythms such as Festejo, Tondero, Huaynos, Valses, Boleros and Landó, combining her vocals with traditional peruvian instruments including Cajón and creole guitar.

Our host is DJ Carlitos Nino (Arriba la Cumbia/Latinos in London) bringing a fusion of Latin and global beats alongside the most recognized and emerging artists.

Jamboree food option: Our ‘Zer’ kitchen is open from 5pm serving delicious Middle Eastern fusion food for you to enjoy a meal/snack if you wish!
