Big Mama’s Door
We are extremely pleased to say that Big Mama’s Door will be making their Country Soul Sessions debut at the September Session. Widely acclaimed by peers and audiences alike Big Mama’s Door play a brand of 50s rhythm & blues, jazz and soul. Fronted by charismatic vocalist Fiona McElroy Big Mama’s Door are a crack band steeped in the great grooves of labels like Blue Note, Chess & Atlantic. Also featuring Stephen Walsh (piano), Andy Knight (guitar), Martin Dewhirst (saxophone), Francesca Shaw (double bass) and Bradley Shaw (drums) the band play an eclectic mix of originals and well chosen covers. Simply put…..don’t miss them!

TJ Johnson
The September Country Soul also sees the debut of jazz and blues singer and ‘hot' pianist TJ Johnson. Backed by a top notch group comprising of top London based musicians, TJ plays a blend of music that transcends the boundaries of jazz, blues, soul, country and gospel. Influenced by greats such as Ray Charles, Dr John, Willie Nelson, BB King, Frank Sinatra and Nina Simone TJ takes his audience on a musical journey from the jazz dives of New Orleans via the honky tonks of Texas to the hip speakeasies of N.Y.C. Come and see the Man and his great band do what they do.
