This week, we present saxophonist and composer Mark Lockheart—a standout talent in UK jazz. Mark first came to public attention in the mid‑1980s as a member of the influential big band Loose Tubes . Since then he’s led acclaimed groups including Perfect Houseplants and the Polar Bear quintet, with work that spans folk, jazz and even orchestral music

Over the years, Mark’s albums have received wide critical praise. His 2009 release In Deep earned four-star reviews in The Guardian and was hailed as perhaps his finest work yet
