Event information

One of Norway’s finest progressive and psychedelic jazz rock groups lands for a freewheeling night in London. Join us for this very special debut performance of Needlepoint in the UK.

Needlepoint (Norway)

A quartet with Bjørn Klakegg (Guitar/Vocal), Erlend Slettevoll (Fender Rhodes), Nikolai Hængsle (Bass) and Ola Øverby (Drums). They have released six albums; “The Woods Are Not What They Seem” (2010), “Outside the Screen" (2012), “Aimless Mary" (2015) "The Diary Of Robert Reverie" (2018) "Walking Up That Valley"(2021) and "Remnants of Light" (2024).

Needlepoint started as a purely instrumental orchestra, but through the latest studio recordings the vocals have taken on an increasingly prominent role.

Many of the band's listeners classify Needlepoint's music as prog rock and often mention Robert Wyatt, Syd Barrett, Caravan, Camel, King Crimson and Yes to describe the band's musical style, which the band is comfortable with.

In a stream of lively keyboard playing, swirling drumming, overwhelming bass lines and distinctive guitar playing, Klakegg's melodious song lines find their place, with stories from somewhere between fantasy and reality. Anyway, Needlepoint still sounds like only Needlepoint does.

Samuel Easter Band (England)

Samuel Easter is a country folk rock and blues singer-songwriter hailing from the windy eastern point of Lowestoft. Easter plays with several East Anglian outfits including The Fool's Moon and Jomo Tuun, as well as his own band of rotating musicians. Original sounds for fans of Grateful Dead, Jethro Tull and Rory Gallagher.

The night will be opened by Guranfoe’s Ollie Snell & frequent collaborator Josh Read, performing music by Guranfoe and more.
