Action packed art! Daring discussion! Fantastic fun!
Join us for an evening celebrating the 'King' of comics, Mr Jack Kirby...and seize the chance to unlock your own inner comic visionary.
Professor of Comic and Cartoon studies Ben Saunders will be joining forces with artists and storytellers Jason Atomic and Owen Michael Johnson, to explore the remarkable life and work of Jack Kirby - one of the true trailblazers of comics and popular graphic art from the 1930s onwards.
The Hulk, Black Panther, Iron Man, The X-Men, Fantastic Four...Kirby's influence on comics and pop culture is truly staggering, with accolades like 'the 10 cent William Blake' easily attaching themselves to his work. And that's before we get into the deep-rooted, utopian ideas underpinning his creations...
Together, we'll examine Jack Kirby's story, legacy and philosophy, and unleash our own creativity with a special comic workshop. It's gonna be crackling with revelatory cosmic energy...so don't miss out!
