Event information
There are no bands quite like Whiskey Moon Face. Poetic, profound, whimsical and haunting. Deeply, deeply loveable. To listen to Whiskey Moon Face is to be transported to another time and place. Deep in the forest with a fire in the dead of night. Or hanging just above the meadow. They'll have you riding the silver wind- following the sound of a clarinet. Get you dancing through the pubs of old London. Dancing berserkers and polkas and Lindy Hop. You'll be in and out an opium den. and you won't be able to sleep in your bed with a dead dog there. You will be amongst a phantom brass band, playing your trumpet up at the wall and you will be an inmate in Barlinnie who hears the music through the bars.
Michael Rice is a London based singer, guitarist and song-writer. Influenced by a wide range of folk music, he’s just released his debut album alongside guitarist Kit Mosely. Ranging from contemporary politics to abstract imagery, his songs seek out the profound in its simplest form.
Tom Conrad Johnson is a folk musician fron North East London. He plays the guitar and sings. He uses writing as a form of staggered escapism. The music and lyrics hold the door open for eachother, to walk through one note at a time, all boozy and in need of somewhere to rest.
Michael Jones is a songwriter from Northumberland based in london and has been performing for the last eight months. His style is alternative folk with softly sung melodic vocals.
