Ranglin’ is a quartet raising a musical salute to the great Jamaican jazz guitarist Ernest Ranglin. Without a doubt the most accomplished Jamaican musician most people have never heard of.
Expect reggae-jazz-calypso-ska & funk grooves rooted down with iconic dub bass lines, topped off with classy jazz guitar & keyboard improvisations.
This new collaboration between Dave Noble (guitar) Nat Woodcock (keys) Ryan Quarterman (double bass) and Tobias Sonrisa Sturmer (drums) aims at broadening the acclaim of a true giant in Jazz.
Ranglin’ will keep you on your toes, with no two shows the same. The quartet heat up Ernest Ranglin’s classic album ‘Below the Bassline’, with their own improvisational spark.
This show will include special guest saxophonist, Ollie Western (Baritone, soprano) who has played with the likes of Amy Winehouse & Bonobo, etc...
