The walk takes you to the site of the Hounsditch robbery, which culminated in the Siege of Sidney Street (December 1910), later to inspire the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie, “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1934). Other highlights of the tour include the finest Georgian shop-front in London; some of the world’s leading street-art; places associated with Geoffrey Chaucer, Jack the Ripper, and the English Reformation; as well as several amazing alleyways, miraculously untouched by two world wars.
Sam Jacobs is a professional City of London guide. He is also the author of three guidebooks to the City of London, the most recent of which is “A Visitor’s Guide to Whitechapel and Spitalfields”.
