Screening of the original film Akenfield made by Peter Hall in 1974 and loosely based on Akenfield: Portrait of an English Village by Ronald Blythe. Blythe's book is the distillation of interviews with 49 local people. The film is a work of fiction. 7.30pm.
This screening also features a pre film screening of ' Akenfield Revisited ', a special making - of documentary with extensive interviews, starting at 6pm.
