Event information
Glas-Goes Pop is excited to unveil an exquisite November line up!
We are delighted to once again host Snowgoose, who sold out The Old Hairdresser’s last October and then proceeded to transfix us all with their pastoral dreamscape. The critically acclaimed project led by Jim McCulloch and vocalist Anna Sheard crafts intricate, melody-rich songs inspired by the golden age of British folk. Their 3rd album 'Descendant’ is out now on Violette Records and Ba Da Bing Records. This will be a full band show.
Lavinia Blackwall has been a fixture on the Glasgow folk scene since her years with Trembling Bells, where she was recognised for her commanding stage presence and spellbinding vocal range. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Lavinia’s lush, melodic arrangements masterfully blend folk, psychedelia and baroque pop. She has just released her second solo LP, ‘The Making,’ on The Barne Society record label.
Olympic State Choir made their debut at this year’s Glas-Goes Pop. OSC is the project of John Charnley, formerly of The Clouds, a late 80s Glasgow indie band with a small but influential catalog. John was coaxed out of live-performance retirement for his first appearance in 30 years. He pulled together a stellar band to showcase his songs of gentle melancholy and soft psychedelia, leaving the audience absolutely stunned by the end of their set. We’re delighted to host them once again for their second show.
Join us for a very special showcase of exceptional musicianship. This will be a seated show.
