An afternoon of experimental music in the warmth and magic of By Our Hands We Make Our Way with:
HAIKU SALUT
Haiku Salut return for their first show in two years with a work-in-progress performance in a wood workshop in Nottingham.
Conducting low-key sonic experiments, testing out new songs and ideas shaped by field recordings gathered from the Derbyshire countryside, expect the sound of earthworms tilling soil, the breath of moss, and the rustle of seeds from soporific plants. These textures will be quietly transformed by sound machines and earthly instruments in a gentle exploration of time, space, and compost.

ELIZABETH STILL
A founding member of the group Haress, Elizabeth Still released her first solo record, Going For Home, on Wrong Speed Records in 2023. The album began as a series of musical sketches, inspired by simple personal domestic moments, recorded on mobile phone. Working with Nick Jonah Davis, Elizabeth turned these vignettes into a beautiful album, recording them in the unique environment of the 12th century Myndtown Church, a place of sanctuary in the Shropshire hills. Field recordings – from home, garden, nature – add further texture and colour to the music. The album is warm, lush, evocative, quietly powerful.

R.DYER
Brighton-based artist R.Dyer uses loop pedal, musical saw, saxophone, nose flute, found sounds, homemade instruments and household objects to create performances which move from baroque-pop to mesmerising soundscapes via acapella folk songs and stories about dogs in trainers. Their debut album Little Victories, released in 2022, marks and celebrates moments in time, each song an avant-folk narrative woven together with found sounds, field recordings, snatches of speech and delicate vocals. R.Dyer live performances are warm, unique, singular; full of charm, laughter, chaos and humanity.
