We’ve had several extraordinary performances of Indian classical music here recently, and this looks like being another. From Kolkata, India, and one of the finest singers of her generation Silpi Paul’s voice is sometimes gentle & meditative, other times athletic & virtuosic, as you can see in the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5iD9jJ9tQw&t=2254s
Silpi is one of the finest singers in her generation. She is an All India Radio graded artist, and an ‘empanelled artist’ of the 50-year-old Indian Heritage organisation, the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth (Spic Macay). She's performed across India and Europe. She received the prestigious ‘Surmani’ award from Sur Singer Samsad, Mumbai; is an A-Graded Artiste of All India Radio, and received a Senior Fellowship from CCRT, Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India recognising her as an Outstanding Person in the Field of Culture.
