Get into the groove with the cult 80s classic that launched Madonna’s screen career, as it celebrates its 40th anniversary! Bored housewife Roberta (Rosanna Arquette) becomes obsessed with the love story between free-spirited Susan (Madonna) and Jim through messages between them in the personal ads of a newspaper. When she decides to spy on their meetup in person, a series of events and a bout of amnesia lead to Roberta being mistaken for Susan herself, putting her life in danger as she embarks on a wild goose chase of mistaken identities, missed connections and mobsters. Hailed as a feminist classic on its release and noted for its impact on fashion, Susan Seidelman’s screwball comedy is just as entertaining and relevant 40 years later.
