Mr Burton is a powerful and moving drama based on the life-changing relationship between a compassionate Port Talbot schoolteacher and a troubled young boy with dreams far beyond the coal dust of South Wales. When Philip Burton meets Richie Jenkins — the son of a hard-drinking miner — he sees more than defiance, he sees raw talent. Recognising the boy’s potential, he helps to shape him into the world-renowned actor Richard Burton, who would one day say, “I owe him everything.” This is the untold story of how love, belief and education turned a boy with a dream into one of the greatest stars Wales has ever produced.
