Event information

PIXEL POWER - Step back in time and dive into the world of retro game design! In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to design and animate your own video game graphics using BBC BASIC—the iconic programming language that powered the original BBC Microcomputer over 40 years ago. Discover the foundations of coding and animation as you bring classic characters and scenes to life on screen. Then, use your new skills to customise and play your very own versions of vintage arcade favourites like Blitz, Invaders, and Snake. Whether you're a beginner or a budding coder, this is a fun and creative way to explore the roots of video game development.

For Ages: 7-11 / Duration: 75 mins.

Start Time: 10.15am (Exit Time: 11.30am).

Venue: Ulster Museum, Learning Zone.

This is a drop-off workshop. Parent/guardian supervision is not required. On the day of the workshop, parent/guardian will be asked to fill in a contact details registration form before the event.
