We’re delighted to welcome back distinguished conductor Owain Arwel Hughes, Trinity Orchestra’s President, to direct a programme brimming with colour, drama and lyricism.
The evening opens with Wagner’s storm-tossed overture to The Flying Dutchman, followed by Elgar’s youthful charm in his Wand of Youth Suite.
Walton’s regal Orb and Sceptre, written for Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation, adds a touch of pomp and brilliance before Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1 sweeps us away with its Nordic fire and passion.
