Event information

The second in a new series of concerts called "In the Pines, In the Pines" held in the natural beauty of Underpine Woods in the wild country of North Cornwall.

Referencing the great Leadbelly song "Where did you sleep last night?" famously covered by Nirvana, these concerts will lean into the best of the deeply soulful Folk, Blues and Grunge flavoured music that the curators of the event, SPARE PEG RECORDS can curate.

This second event hosts 3 top acts spanning the genres, with the spellbinding Kitty Crocker, Gary McCausland and Callum Kenworthy

Callum Kenworthy is a 30-year-old artist based in Falmouth, Cornwall. His music blends a unique fusion of modern indie folk with flamenco-inspired, percussive guitar techniques, drawing on both contemporary and traditional influences. Over the years, Callum has developed a distinct sound by exploring rhythmic and melodic patterns from a wide range of cultures — particularly African, Latin, and Celtic — and weaving them into his songwriting. Deeply personal and emotionally honest, Callum’s music is rooted in his own life experiences. His songs reflect on themes such as love, loss, growth, identity, and the shifting nature of relationships — whether romantic, platonic, or familial. With a reflective and often philosophical lens, he also engages with broader social themes and questions the constructs that shape modern life. "I feel a responsibility to write about the way I perceive the world,” Callum says. “I believe that as humans, we’re far more alike than we realise. By sharing our stories and emotions through music, we create space for connection and understanding — and I think that’s something we all need.” In the setting of Underpine Woods, Callum Kenworthy at the top of the bill surrounded by uplit trees in the night will be sure to live long in the memory of everyone lucky enough to be there.

Kitty Crocker is an emerging artist from Cornwall who’s currently making waves in the South West music scene. Known for her relatable rhythms, storytelling lyrics and memorable melodies, Kitty’s music spans a spectrum from lively tunes to introspective verses. Her single, Want It Back, has resonated deeply with listeners and recently earned her BBC Introducing’s coveted “Track of the Week” for the South West. Kitty was also featured in our Southwest Spotify playlist with her brilliant track ‘’Domino effect.’’ Her songs are an invitation to her world. One where emotions are raw and every tune is crafted in truth and relatable experience. Kitty is local to the area where In The Pines is held, a firm favourite locally having played boardmasters festival this year and opening for Ezmay Grace at her Album launch in August.

Gary McCausland is a troubadour straight out of the old school, a legend on the Bude music circuit. Playing mostly on the bar and pub scene, Gary rarely gets a chance to really dig into his own prolific library of self-penned songs. A master songwriter and a guitar teacher and choir leader to boot, In The Pines will provide the perfect setting to hear a full set of Gary's fabulous original material, with a new album in the works, this will be one to look forward to.
