A free, fun, scientific and optimistic workshop.
UNDERSTAND ... the limits of our use of natural resources and the impacts of the current economic model
EXPLORE ... concrete measures as a group to create a circular economy
ACT! ... Individuals, businesses and policy-makers: let's act now!
A circular economy - the counterpoint to a linear economy - is a model of resource production and consumption that reduces waste through sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling.
The concept aims to tackle global challenges, such as climate change, biodiversity loss, waste, and pollution, through three design-based principles:
1) designing out waste and pollution
2) keeping products and materials in use
3) regenerating natural systems
In this three hour, interactive workshop, you and your group will explore the facts, the impacts and the solutions, through learning, discussion and creating a collage from expert information cards, mapping out the causes and effects of a regenerative versus linear system.
This workshop is inspired by the pedagogy of the Climate Fresk (an interactive workshop that teaches the IPCC Climate report). Experience this unique way of learning, if you are new to the Fresk universe of workshops.
While the workshop is offered free and hosted by volunteers, any donations towards the hire of the venue would be much appreciated.
The Circular Economy workshop has been enjoyed by over 40,000 participants.
