Charlie Beresford is a visual artist, guitarist, singer, instrument designer, engineer and filmmaker. His work as a musician has traced a singular path, blending elements of folk, modern classical and jazz and earning him much critical acclaim in the UK and Europe.
Peter Marsh spent decades as a bass player working across a baffling range of genres from straight jazz to free improv to folk to electronica, before taking up the lap steel guitar during the lockdowns of 2020. He has played with or for artists such as Lol Coxhill, Alan Wilkinson, Alex Paterson (The Orb), Julie Kjaer, and Spring Heel Jack.
In the depths of the Welsh winter of 2024/2025, these two old friends met up, put the kettle on, settled down in front of an open fire and played some music. The results defy easy categorisation but are marked by much warmth and empathy; shades of blues, exotic drones and pastoral folk drift in and out of focus. English/Welsh Primitive, perhaps, or traditional music from an as yet undiscovered planet.
