Newly reissued by the BFI, directed by Werner Herzog and starring Klaus Kinski, this epic historical tale of a party of conquistadors pursuing a dream of finding El Dorado, is hugely atmospheric and hauntingly unforgettable. Famous for its arduous production in the Amazonian jungle, it features an acclaimed soundtrack which beautifully adds to the mythic mood. A Time magazine ‘All Time Best 100’ film.
