Event information
The Arboretum –Techy machines based riddims with dirty post punk guitar riffing over the top and wonderful wailing vocals. A bit cosmic a la Ozric Tentacles but also like a more abrasive indie dance thing. Tree – mendous.
Thursday At War – Dark and evocative alt rock full of tension and brooding, soulful drama. Somewhere between Joy Division and Muse, or The Chameleons and early U2.
Bloody Bollocks – and now for something completely different, but still right up our Strasse. Spiritual brothers to The Kunts perhaps, expect an incisive set of Satirical, Comical punk rock, as evinced by their rather wonderful album on Bandcamp, Now That’s What I Call Bollocks. Superb.
Peter Doolan and the Saint Valentines Day Massacres – folky instrumentation (mandolin and maybe banjo atop the normal rocknroll lineup) souped up into, at times, an early Velvets groovy chug with some nifty melodic and vital lyrical /vocal work from the titular Peter D. Nice. Other songs are more obviously Celtic /Irish / trad and also tap into a rich vein of Americana… good songwriterly stuff.
