Queer as Punk presents: Sister Ghost, on tour from Ireland! Support comes from local bands Fistymuffs and Skinny Imps.
Sister Ghost
Sister Ghost is the haunting, self-made world of Irish musician Shannon Delores O’Neill—a rare artist redefining what DIY means in rock today. Having played in bands since the age of 12, O’Neill launched Sister Ghost, writing and recording everything herself on an old 8-track recorder. The result: a spectral fusion of art-rock and dark power-pop, Sister Ghost is for fans of the Seattle sound mixed with Juliana Hatfield, Veruca Salt, Patti Smith and Kate Bush; music that’s both intelligent and visceral.
Over the years, Sister Ghost has grown into one of Ireland’s most vital and fearless rock voices. O’Neill was awarded Best Live Act at the NI Music Prize, and has shared the stage with major acts including Snow Patrol, Fontaines D.C., Pussy Riot, We Are Scientists, and more. Beyond the stage, she’s also a changemaker: in 2016, she founded Girls Rock! NI, a grassroots music initiative empowering young women and gender-expansive musicians across Northern Ireland—a movement that continues to grow.
Critically acclaimed by The Guardian, Louder + Hot Press Magazine, and featured on KEXP, BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, and RTÉ 2FM, Sister Ghost’s debut album, Beyond The Water, now marks the bold arrival of an artist who has been quietly—and persistently—laying the groundwork for something extraordinary. Recorded in Los Angeles with producer Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Veruca Salt) and drummer Jeff Friedl (A Perfect Circle, DEVO), the album signals a fearless new chapter of artistic vision and international ambition.
“Feels authentic, from the era of Pixies, Breeders and Hole. Brilliant music, beautifully made.” - Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music
“Absolutely massive!” - Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1
“Big guitar hooks! I’m obsessed!” - Gemma Bradley, BBC Radio 1
Fistymuffs
Fistymuffs are a political punk, queer riot grrrl band from Edinburgh. 3 Girls Rock School Edinburgh graduates who have been together since 2016, Fistymuffs have released 2 EPs and are currently working on their debut album. With songs that challenge the hegemony of the rich, and topics including climate change, neurodiversity, and crap jobs, Fistymuffs inspire rebellion through energetic power chords and powerful beats.
Skinny Imps
Skinny Imps are Edinburgh's worst all trans punk band! With heavy distortion and a lot to shout about, they're here to spread queer joy, stick it to "the man", and stretch your definition of modern day punk.
