Event information

Terry Baine is a Canadian-Norwegian singer-songwriter and guitarist.
With influences as varied as John Martyn, Pete Townshend and Gordon Lightfoot, Baine uses a mix of folk, rock and blues to take us on intricate lyrical journeys. This matinee concert at the Folklore Rooms will be his first ever performance in the UK, and is part of his international tour that also includes concerts in Norway and in Terry's native Canada.

Terry Baine started performing in festivals and pubs in his hometown of Hamilton, Canada before moving to Ottawa in 1985. Here, he quickly became part of the Ottawa folk music scene while simultaneously working as a teacher at a local high school. And it was also in Ottawa that Terry first teamed with legendary Ottawa music producer and bassist Phillip Victor Bova, who has produced and recorded all four of Terry’s albums to date:  Fourth World (1989), Hamilton Operator (1998), A Little Madness (2022), and his latest release, Waiting For Euterpe (2025).
Terry Baine now lives in Norway where he continues to write, perform and record.

“Terry Baine is a wandering minstrel of the world and chronicles what he sees in song.”
Sandra Abma, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)

“Terry Baine is a multi-faceted musician who uses his powerful voice and his grace and elegance on the guitar to communicate his music. An engaged and engaging singer-songwriter with a great talent for both storytelling and composing.“
Jon Arnesen, Rock Furore Magazine, Norway

Opening for Terry Baine is Brighton-based singer-songwriter Ronnie Cutmore.
Ronnie blends indie folk with touches of blues and soul, creating music that is raw, intimate, and emotionally charged. With poetic lyricism and heartfelt vocals, his songs explore love, loss, and self-discovery, offering listeners an authentic and deeply human connection.
