Join award winning poet Nick Makoha and professor of world literatures in English Dr Malachi McIntosh for an evening of live poetry, discussion and creativity in the bookshop!
Nick will be reading from his latest book 'The New Carthaginians', and considering the power that poetry has to engage with Black archival histories in 2025.
As part of Dr McIntosh's ongoing exploration of Black archival history, this event invites us to liberate ancestral experiences from the storerooms; to reflect on how poetry and art can address narratives of violence hidden within the archive, and open up space for reappraisal and fresh responses in the here and now.
