Best known to the general public, perhaps, for the devastating wit of her reviews, journalism and conversation, Dorothy Parker was also a highly successful poet, screenwriter and short story writer. Shedding a pitiless light particularly on relationships between men and women, her short stories are both funny and tragic. As writers we'll be analysing in particular her talent for scene-setting and character-revealing dialogue.
