How do we preserve what is beginning to fade?
In this chilling tale, master storyteller Vic Llewellyn takes us on a joyful, funny and heartbreaking ride through a landscape of ghosts, forgetfulness and fading memories.
When a (not so) famous actor Malcolm Aldcroft (Casualty) adapts
the renowned Ghost story, Canon Alberic’s Scrapbook by M.R. James, his aim is to cause the audiences spines to tingle, and their hackles rise. He tells a tale of a haunting, so terrifying that we will question what is real and what is fiction. Malcolm guarantees a monster will materialise if the fear level of the room rises. With the aid of his FEAR-O-METRE, music, and puppetry, he explores the things we fear the most.
Drawing on the traditions of ghost stories, and his own distinctive style, Vic weaves a semi-autobiographical tale of haunted journeys, lost friends and the slow unravelling of memory. At its heart is an actor facing the loss of his most treasured possession: his memory.
Following on from his previous shows, The Castle Builder, and A Little Death, Vic continues in his commitment to pushing the boundaries of storytelling in theatre. The new show, with a haunting original soundtrack and songs, puppetry and magic conjures up a mysterious and ghostly world for the audience.
"A compact masterpiece of storytelling that unfolds again and again like origami." - Bristol 24/7 (praise for A Little Death)
