Step into the candlelit world of haunted ballads, spectral voices, and tales from the beyond…
Cellist-singer Laura Moody launches her brand new Halloween EP Haunted at The Nest, Oxford, with a spine-tingling evening of music and storytelling. Inspired by Victorian women’s ghost poetry and performed with nothing but voice and cello, Laura conjures a soundworld that is dark, atmospheric, and deliciously eerie.
She’s joined by much-loved Oxford folk singer Ian Giles (Magpie Lane, The Oxford Waits), renowned for his rich, characterful performances of English traditional song - and by our special guest storyteller Gillian Bevan is a magnetic British actor celebrated for her fearless range, from the cult horror classic Ghostwatch to hit dramas like Teachers and Holby City. On stage, she’s appeared in multiple West End productions and made history as the first woman to play Cymbeline for the Royal Shakespeare Company.
Expect ghost stories, spook folk, and spectral songs in a playful, spine-prickling celebration of the strange and supernatural. Goosebumps guaranteed.
