We’re very excited to announce that in autumn 2026 we’ll be taking our Lady Maisery Big Sing Weekend to London for the very first time!

Big Sings are our signature group singing courses and we run a few every year. The course is focused on big group singing, learning some great harmony songs and enjoying ourselves. This time we’ll be gathering in Cecil Sharp House - the home of folk music in London - located in bustling Camden Town. We’re very excited to fill the place with the joyful sound of you all harmony singing!

We invite singers of all abilities to stretch themselves, discover something new, gain more confidence and, most importantly, have a lot of fun. We have been running singing weekends and week-long courses over the past decade and they are incredibly popular. With well-being and a friendly approach at the centre of the weekend, participants should expect to sing lots within the safety and big sound of a group. We never ask anyone to sing on their own and aim for everyone (however experienced or not) to get something out of the workshop. Songs are taught by ear, with lyric sheets where needed. The material will be in three part harmony and the songs will either be from our Lady Maisery repertoire or other songs we’re excited to share!

Each singing course is a little different and on our Big Sings we focusing on the pure joy of singing in a big group! The weekend will include activities such as: thorough physical, breathing and vocal warm ups, learning rounds and simple songs, learning some bigger more complex group songs in glorious three part harmony and having a go at improvisation in an inspiring and supportive atmosphere.

This is not a catered course, so you can choose from the eclectic range of cuisines available in Camden or bring your own food.

Rough schedule

We’ll meet at 10am on Saturday morning and we’ll finish at 3pm on Sunday. On Saturday night we will host the friendliest and most welcoming ‘open-stage', where participants can get up to share a song, a poem, a turn of some kind if they wish - this is always a highlight of the weekend! We will send a more detailed timetable nearer the time of the course

Venue

The venue is Trefusis Hall in Cecil Sharp House, Camden Town, at the junction of Regent's Park Road and Gloucester Avenue. It is very easy to reach by rail, road and tube.

A limited number of disabled parking bays are available on the grounds of Cecil Sharp House, accessible via the Regents Park Road. Spaces can be reserved for visitors with access needs, on a first-come-first-served basis, by calling 020 7485 2206 or emailing info@efdss.org.

Cecil Sharp House is outside of the congestion charge zone but within the Ultra Low Emission Zone.

Pricing

Price: £190 (+ £13.30 booking fee). This is not a catered or residential course so you will need to find your own food and accommodation if needed.

Please note that this singing weekend will run with the same or similar content as the Big Sings in Sheffield in April and September 2026.

Cancellations

If you should need to cancel your ticket at any time, our policy is that if we can fill the place we can offer you a full refund (we usually have a decent sized waiting list). If it’s not possible to fill the place, we’ll still issue the refund if it’s more than a month before the weekend, a half refund if it’s more than two weeks in advance, but unfortunately we can’t offer a refund if it’s within two weeks of the event and the place can’t be filled. The small Wegottickets commission is not refundable.
