Event information

On this most pyrotechnic of nights, we anticipate entertaining verbal fireworks inside as we hear Dr Terrie Howey-Moore and Mitchell Taylor telling “Hanging Around Stories”

Terrie writes:
“In a small little cottage lives an old woman that life forgot, but who Death will never forget. When age takes you and the world doesn’t see you your choice and your voice become lost, but this canny crone has found stories and we’re stuck with her.”
We’ve celebrated our 10th Anniversary year with double acts of Amy Douglas and Jason Buck, of Jo Blake and Fergie, and since so many stories celebrate the magical number of Three, here’s our third pairing, Terrie and Mitchell. Terrie’s well known to the Feast of Fools as the storyteller with perhaps the most influence on the club between her dynamic performances, her inspired teaching of so many of our regular tellers, and her presence in our audience.
We look forward to meeting Mitchell, who’s collaborating with her on this, and who Terrie described as “poet, towering storyteller and colossal musician” (And apparently quite tall with it!) Together they’re our final professional guest artists of the year, and how better to complete our guest list?!
As usual we expect to offer the warm welcome of the Feast of Fools atmosphere, the lovely Quaker Meeting House, and while Janet’s temporarily absent we’ll have good cakes and drinks kindly brought by Lynette Hill and Ruth Spink.
As usual doors will open at 7.00 for a prompt 7.30 start.
At present we have to remind you, sadly, that our regular car park is unavailable it’s best to park on the Upper Mounts car park, and to allow an extra 5 minutes for the walk. And we’re also encouraging you to walk back en masse to the car park afterwards so nobody has to feel isolated for that bit!
We look forward to welcoming you.
