“The Silver Wheel Circus, which brought the sell out show "Ostara" to Ashburton Arts Centre in April 2025 is back with a new circus cabaret show to celebrate and honour the time of Samhain. It's an evening show curated primarily for adults, exploring the themes of this time of year in a sensitive, vulnerable and raw set of performers who will dive into the subconscious and through sensational circus acts explore the potent topics of grief and ancestry, love and sorrow, all happening within a ritual space.
“Come ye, come ye… Feast yourself on a night of wonder!
From fantastic fire breathers to death-defying aerialists, clowns and dancers. Let us take you on a journey through the ritualistic and ridiculous, reverently touching, raw, emotional…
The tone of the night will be darkly magical, sensual and atmospheric, hosted by the dark priestess who will call forth other-worldly beings, apparitions with a message, a glimpse of what lingers in the in-between. These messages might be playful, seductive, eerie, ecstatic, mournful or strange — each one carrying something from beyond the veil.”
Tea and Cake in the Interval — The Silver Wheel Company writes:
“During the interval we will be serving hot drinks and delicious organic cake, please order this with your ticket as we don't have time to take payments on the night. We will have refined sugar-free, gluten-free and vegan options plus some traditional naughty desserts. Please advise us of your dietary requirements if you have any so we can make he right amount of each cake!”
Health note:
During during the last Silver Wheel Circus here (Ostara/Easter 2025) the smoke from the fire performances was intense at some points. In this show, there will be fewer fire acts and more aerial.
There will still be some fumes from the fire acts this time so it might not be suitable for people with severe respiratory conditions such as COPD. If you have any questions about this or anything else, please email boxoffice@ashburtonarts.org.uk or call the Arts Centre on 01364 652781.
