Japanese-Australian pianist and composer Rieko Makita invites you into a world of sound where the classical and contemporary intertwine. Described by The Arts Desk for her “opalescent subtlety and vibrant colours,” Rieko has performed live on BBC Radio 3 and appeared at the Royal Albert Hall in 2024.

In this intimate debut solo show, Rieko presents her recent composition as well as new music for piano and Korg Minilogue XD, weaving together influences from Chopin and Ravel to Ichiko Aoba and Ryuichi Sakamoto. Her atmospheric piano music draw inspiration from gardens, seasons, and dreams, creating a reflective and immersive listening experience.

Set in the magically intimate and historic St Pancras Clocktower, this performance offers a rare opportunity to experience Rieko’s music up close - where stillness, nature, and imagination meet.

Concert ends: 8.30pm

` The venue is located inside St Pancras Chambers Apartments. The entrance of the Chamber Apartments is 10 meters to the right of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel. When you go in, the concierge will send you on to apartment 5-01 on the 5th floor. Take the elevator up. When you get off the elevator on 5th floor, go straight through the doors, then turn left.
