Event information
Love Mill Road is developing a project that helps to tackle social isolation in the Mill Road neighbourhood.
We have several spaces available at our free tutored workshops at Cambridge Design Rooms on Gwydir St. These will be relaxed, sociable sessions with all materials provided. It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced patchworker or a complete beginner - you are most welcome to come along for one or all three of the workshops. Each session will last two hours. 10.00am - 12.00 midday.
Once completed, these colourful tie-on cushions, made from recycled upholstery fabrics, will signify community spaces for information and regular volunteer-led meet-ups in some Mill Road cafes. When not in use the cushions will provide colourful markers that serve to start conversations and spark ideas.
We will start with just a few Community Cafés but hope this project will eventually expand to other Mill Road cafes as a welcoming gesture for all.
