Cult Bristolian artist Emily Breeze is known for her distinct brand of pop noir which combines a punk attitude, powerful performance and a dark sense of humor. Her music blends post-punk swagger with baroque pop drama, soaked in synths, cigarettes and sarcasm beautifully illustrated by her all star band Rob Norbury (lead guitar), Andy Sutor (drums), Helen Stanley (keys/synth), George Caveney (bass).
She saw National recognition in 2022 when singles “Confessions Of An Ageing Party Girl” and “Ordinary Life” were championed by BBC Radio 6 which resulted in being playlisted and a feature interview with Craig Charles. Followed by support slots for James and Sleaford Mods, a performance on Radio 4’s Loose Ends with Clive Anderson and a remix from Daddy G (Massive Attack). Two albums and many UK tour dates later her new album Rats in Paradise is all high-gloss melancholy and snarling wit — an anthem-filled fever dream where heartbreak wears sequins and even the rats look fabulous.
Championed by BBC 6 Music and adored in the underground, Emily delivers every line like it’s a last confession or a punchline — sometimes both.
