Event information

Wildwood Jack are a totally unique acoustic guitar and ukulele duo from Kent. Having sold their home in 2013 to hit the road and tour the world they bring an intimate, heartwarming and adventurous spirit to their music and to audiences wherever they play.

With over a decade of touring and a life lived on the road, their adventures and journeys are richly woven into their songwriting, songs that sparkle with originality and the craft of storytelling. Contemporary folk played with outstanding acoustic guitar and ukulele.

‘This is an accomplished duo. Not only is the musicianship excellent, the vocal delivery is spot on’ BBC Radio Wales
Their albums Liberty Ship (2018) and Many More Ways Than One (2020) expertly blend the genres of folk with Americana, bluegrass and world music.

‘Songwriting at it’s finest, melody rich, hook infused, lyrically sparkling, instantly attractive and wholly enduring’ Folkwords
2022 saw the release of Adam’s book The Road is an Unfinished Song, a biographical memoir of their time on the road and number 1 on Amazon’s Hot New Releases in both Travel and Folk.

Wildwood Jack are husband and wife Adam Piggott and Jayne Freeman, brought together by a love of music when they first met in 1991 at Hull University and they’ve been travelling on musical journeys ever since. Settling in Hastings in East Sussex in 2002 they played in various musical projects including a samba band, a ukulele sextet and a cabaret trio. All the while gathering and writing songs, with music taking them further and further afield. From these travels and adventures they longed to hit the road full time and in June 2013 they sold up and began an inspirational journey that’s taken them all over the UK, Europe and New Zealand. Playing at acoustic clubs, folk clubs, festivals, house concerts, even busking has brought new people to their music.
