“Intelligent and thought-provoking songs, beautifully made and skilfully delivered.” – The Times
Award-winning singer-songwriter Reg Meuross is one of the UK’s most admired troubadours — a modern-day folk poet whose songs capture the beauty, heartbreak, and humanity of everyday life. With a career spanning three decades and a catalogue of critically acclaimed albums, Reg has earned comparisons to the great lyricists of our time and the title “Master Storyteller” from Pennyblack Music.
From small village halls to the Royal Albert Hall, Reg captivates audiences with his warm tenor voice, intricate guitar work and songs that speak straight to the heart. His performances are intimate and deeply human — weaving tales of forgotten heroes, protest and compassion, love and loss, and the small moments that define us.
Praised by Martin Carthy as “a mighty songwriter and an equally fine singer”, Reg has received multiple honours, including Fatea Best Male Vocalist, FolkWords Best Album, and Folking.com Soloist of the Year. His discography — from Leaves & Feathers and England Green & England Grey to Faraway People, 12 Silk Handkerchiefs, and his powerful recent work Stolen From God — demonstrates extraordinary range and empathy, blending traditional folk storytelling with contemporary relevance.
Mark Radcliffe described him on BBC Radio 2 as “a brilliant singer-songwriter and true troubadour with a social conscience.” Indeed, Reg’s songs often shine light on untold stories — from historical injustices to today’s moral challenges — always delivered with lyrical grace and melodic beauty. Yet for all his protest and poignancy, he’s equally at home writing the kind of love songs that stop you in your tracks, full of tenderness and timeless melody.
In concert, Reg’s warmth, humour and honesty make every show feel personal — his words and music painting vivid pictures that linger long after the final chord.
“A deep well of compassion and insight into the human heart and spirit.” – Folk Radio UK
“When you have 2000 people singing along, you’re doing something right.” – Great British Folk Festival
As ever there will be a warm St Nick's welcome and a licensed bar to accompany a memorable night of live music.
