Two great London-based musicians, Jo Fooks on Tenor Saxophone and Buster Birch on Drums. They’ll be joined by Martin Jenkins on Organ and Neil Burns on Guitar for a night of hard swinging Jazz.
Jo Fooks is a former Young Scottish Jazz Musician of the Year, and a member of legendary British trumpeter Humphrey Lyttelton's band. Citing his “fun-filled and melodic” approach as a major influence, Jo’s big, bright sound has drawn favourable comparisons to players such as Stan Getz and Zoot Sims. Other notable collaborations includes playing with some of the finest mainstream bands and artists, including Jo Harrop and Scott Hamilton.
“A brilliantly inventive player and composer” Humphrey Lyttelton
Buster Birch is an award-winning drummer from London who has worked with many of the UK’s finest jazz musicians, performing extensively both in the UK and multiple major international festivals, touring over 30 countries and recorded almost 40 CDs, and has performed regularly with The Royal Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra and The Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
