UNNITED - Anti Racist Weekender

Event information

A whole weekend of music, talks and workshops exploring the impact of racism in our communities. We will hear direct stories from those impacted now, on our streets and in our workplaces.

Racism never went away but there has been a significant rise in rhetoric by political parties to encourage division within our communities in their attempts to win votes. But this narrative doesn’t come from our community, it is a narrative we are bombarded with each day through the messaging from media moguls who manage to get into our living rooms uninvited.

Over the weekend we will create space to dispel the headlines that tell us our society is divided. And where people are impacted by racism, we will all go away understanding what more we can do about it, to challenge and to act as real allies.

We will share food, space and hear why music and art is such an important and powerful medium for challenging the status quo and ask the question what more should we be doing.

There will be workshops, dance, spoken word, creative writing, speakers, stories, street food and an eclectic mix of sounds and artists across the weekend.

Friday will start with food, talks and DJ's with dancing till late. Cafe, food and bar.
