Germa Adan is a classically trained composer, vocalist, and string musician whose music traverses Haitian, American, and British folk traditions, the rich sonic languages of the Afro-diaspora, and the improvisational spirit of jazz. Born in Haiti, raised in the US and now living in the UK, her transatlantic journey shapes a sound rich in storytelling, identity, and cultural memory. Blending layered string and vocal harmonies with themes of ancestry, migration, and belonging, her work has featured at festivals including Manchester Folk, Sidmouth Folk, Moseley Folk, and Migration Matters.
Her debut album, Borderlines & Bloodlines, was named one of Folk Alley’s Best Trad Albums of 2023, praised for its depth, beauty, and cultural resonance.
