Denise Bennett has an MA in Creative Writing (Poetry) and is an established, prize-winning local poet who has published 4 collections. Her most recent being Things I have kept by Cinnamon Press. She is a qualified adult education tutor who has been running writing workshops in community setting for 35 years.
You will explore how the special things that you cherish and the memories they hold, can inspire your own work. At the end of the session, you will have notes and ideas to develop your work. The workshop is open to all levels; come and share your life experience and write a memory poem. Bring your notebook, pen and an item which is important to you: A piece of jewellery, clothing, a cooking implement, a letter, an ornament, a special gift, a photograph … Denise will conclude the event by reading from her anthology Things I have kept.
