Talk and writing workshop with Portsmouth writer Tina MacNaughton
Tina revisits her 2023 novel ‘Delphy Rose – the girl who wrote songs’ to celebrate 50 years of punk! Tina will discuss the story of ‘Delphy Rose’, singer/song writer of 1980s fictional post-punk band, The Thistles. The novel is set in a seaside town and traces Delphy’s journey as she comes to terms with a traumatic past. Tina will discuss writing in a dual time frame, fusing poetry and prose, and incorporating several voices within her novel – young Delphy, mature Delphy and Ben.
After a short talk, Tina will run some writing exercises based on the themes of her novel.
Personally signed copies of ‘Delphy Rose’ will be available to purchase on the day at a special Bookfest 2026 price of £10. Cash only, please.
